 SAMPLE#1:

BEST IELTS WRITING TASK 1 FOR ACADEMIC IELTS TEST:

MODEL ANSWER:

The graph illustrates the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in different countries including United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from the period of 1967 to 2007. It presents excessive fluctuations of the average carbon dioxide emissions per person within the specified period.

In the beginning emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) per person in Portugal was significantly low and gradually increases with the passage of time in comparison to other countries. According to the graph, Portugal is the least contributor of average carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) per person compared to other countries. The most interesting part of the graph represented that United Kingdom is the largest contributor of average carbon dioxide emissions per person in the year 1967 but it shows significant decrease in the magnitude of emission from the year 1987 to 2007, even after that United Kingdom was at peak contributor in the graph. Italy was having same pattern as Portugal’s carbon dioxide emission but Italy had more emission of carbon dioxide per person in contrast of Portugal. It is to be observed that Italy and Portugal had somehow similar fluctuations in the trend but emission of carbon dioxide per person in Italy was significantly increased in the year 1977 and then its magnitude declined again. Sweden had sudden increased in average emission of carbon dioxide in the year 1977 but still it has lower value as compared to the United Kingdom. It is to be pointed out that average carbon dioxide emission in Sweden has fallen suddenly just after the year 1977 and it was having same value of carbon dioxide emission as Portugal had in the year 2007. It means that Sweden applied some sort of regulations and mitigation measures to reduce the levels of carbon dioxide emission per person in the country.

In a nutshell it is be examined that average carbon dioxide emissions per person were high in the beginning in all the four countries but it drastically decreased with the passage of time. Overall, all the countries put some obligations to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide per person so the amount of carbon dioxide significantly decreased as shown in the graph.
